A Day in the Life with eos
Anytime that I've been asked to describe a "typical day" or what my schedule is like, I blank. I don't know that I've ever had the same day, at least at work. In running a business that is part wedding stationery focused, part styling focused, part social media focused and part blogging focused, it's impossible to actually focus if I do all of those things everyday! There are a few things that I do try to keep consistent though. When it comes to my personal routine, I've gone through years of figuring out what keeps me going and feeling my best throughout the entire day. And most recently, that's included finding and eliminating things like processed foods, majority of meat, cleaning up my beauty routine and finding natural alternatives, and just being more conscious overall. It's shocking when you start to look at what you are putting in and on your body. So when eos reached out to partner in sharing the story behind their natural formulas, it was a no brainer. The eos products include ingredients such as jojoba, coconut, + avocado oils and Shea butter, are vegan and wax-free. Did I mention they're cute? They are.
While what I'm eating and how much I'm hydrating play a big part in my day, I've also focused on finding products that keep me feeling great on the outside, all day long. The eos Crystal lip balm is extremely hydrating, far more than my last option that I would reapply several times every hour. And since I am not super into glosses or lipstick, this stuff takes me from my morning workout to happy hour with the girls. So here's a quick look into how I've been incorporating it into my day to day since trying it out!
The first thing I (try) to do every day is get a workout in. If I'm not done before 7am, it's NOT happening. I get caught up in my day and usually don't sit down until after dinner. I don't do much since I'm not a morning person and it's hard enough to get up... so hair goes up, eos goes up, and I'm out the door.
After our workouts, my husband and I usually have coffee, catch up on emails or (mostly) instagram, then get ready to start the WORK day.
This specific day was pretty packed. I started by getting things organized at the new office. We're still putting things in their place and trying to find the perfect place for everything, so I feel like these mornings happen pretty regularly for me! I met a handyman there to get some new shelves and hooks up, re-organized our storage room so we could actually walk through it and went through old piles of stuff that were already forming after 2 months. Next I lost track of about 3 hours in emails, social media scheduling for clients, list making for upcoming shoots, etc. Before I knew it, it was lunch and I had to hit the road to the flower shop because I HATE traffic. And being on the freeway anytime after 2pm is just a disaster. I had to pick up some flower options for a few different shoots and for, well, myself.
If I have lettering to do, I usually save it for the afternoon. Lettering in the morning usually takes me a bit longer to warm up for, plus I am far more productive with less creative tasks earlier in the day like answering emails, packing orders, etc. I seem to get them done faster. This can be as simple as taking a few minutes to letter a word or two, or several hours if I am working on something like invitation designs or envelope addressing. Luckily this day was a quick last name for a stamp... because after this it was onto editing photos for blog posts.
Finally, finally, finally... it was happy hour. Most days we'll stay in and enjoy a little rosé during a quick meeting to recap our day or week, but it's never a bad idea to have some simple accessories and beauty items for touch ups if you're heading out.
My favorite part about eos is that I can (and will, and do) wear it all day for any occasion. It's a new go-to for me as I try to make better decisions with what I purchase for myself. I recommend buying a few and having them everywhere. One of the things that annoys me the most is having to worry if I have lip balm with me where I need it!
I keep mine:
In my bathroom drawer for getting ready
In a drawer downstairs (because sometimes I'm a little lazy)
In my purse for on the go
In my desk drawer for when I'm in the office
In the car for days full of errands (raise your hand if you hate trying to rummage through your purse while driving!)
How much thought do you guys put into your beauty items? How long have you been conscious of your buying decisions? It's more of a recent change for me, so I'd love to hear your thoughts on what questions you ask yourself (or research you do) before considering a product.
I hope you enjoyed seeing how I'm working eos into my life in an effort to incorporate that change! You can check out more on their product line here.
